Not sure if a gas cart or electric cart is right for you?
For most applications, either will perform as needed. Many people prefer electric carts because
electric carts are quieter and require comparatively less maintenance. But
electric vehicles are dependent on an electrical source for recharging. In some uses, that’s not practical or readily available which is why other people prefer gas-powered carts.
Both types of carts have about 1000 pounds hauling capacity and will perform for 15-20 years (depending on the quality of maintenance). Gas carts use a 9 horsepower motor and electric carts have 2.5 – 3.5 horsepower. A gas cart tank holds 6 gallons and will go about 150 miles per tank. Electric carts will give 90-120 minutes of continuous, non-stop running time between charges.
Both gas carts and electric carts will climb a 50% grade. Gas carts will climb hills faster than electric. Turning radius is 17-20 feet and the maximum speed is 12-18 MPH on level ground and 6-12 MPH going up hills.
